# Inspection Report Content

> Customize the standard wording used in InspectIQ Summary and Full Inspection Reports.

**Inspection Report Content** lets you tailor the standard language included in your inspection reports. These are company-wide defaults, separate from the observations and recommendations you record for an individual inspection.

Go to **Settings → Business Settings → Inspection Report Content**.

## Edit report wording

Each section shows its purpose, the report type in which it appears, and an editable text field.

1. Find the report section you want to customize.
2. Review its existing wording and make your changes directly in the text field.
3. Confirm your changes have been saved before leaving the page.

The recording shows these sections:

* **Summary Report Notice** — explains that the Summary Report is condensed and does not replace the Full Inspection Report. Appears in the **Summary Report**.
* **Important Report Information** — general information about the point-in-time inspection and the nature of its findings. Appears in the **Full Report**.
* **Inspection Scope** — outlines the general purpose and scope of the inspection. Appears in the **Full Report**.
* **Inspection Limitations** — explains conditions and restrictions that may limit what can be inspected or determined. Appears in the **Full Report**.

## Restore the standard wording

Select **Restore IIQ Default** beside a section if you want to replace your customized wording with InspectIQ's default text for that section.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Restoring a default replaces the custom wording in that field. Review the result before using it in a client report.

## When changes take effect

The page explains that report language is captured when a report is generated. Changes to these defaults are not intended to silently alter reports that have already been delivered.

> [!NOTE]
>
> These fields control standard report text, not inspection-specific findings. To prepare or regenerate an individual report, see [Generating & Finalizing Reports](https://help.myinspectiq.com/reports/finalizing-reports.md).

> [!TIP]
>
> Review your report wording against your standards of practice, insurer requirements, and applicable local requirements. The supplied defaults are a starting point and are not a guarantee of legal compliance.
