# Work Orders Overview

> Find, track, and manage your inspection Work Orders in InspectIQ.

Work Orders organize the steps that happen before and during an inspection, including property details, scheduling, agreements, and inspector assignments.

## Open Work Orders

1. Select **Work Orders** from the main navigation.
2. Review your Work Orders on the dashboard.
3. Select an existing Work Order to open its details, or select **+ New Work Order** to begin a new one.

## Understand the Work Orders Dashboard

The dashboard displays Work Orders in four columns, based on their current stage:

| Stage | What it means |
| - | - |
| **To Schedule** | The inspection still needs an appointment. |
| **Scheduled** | An inspection date and time have been set. |
| **In Progress** | Inspection work is underway. |
| **Completed** | The inspection has been completed. |

Each card gives you a quick view of a Work Order. Select one to see its full details and available actions.

## Find a Work Order

Use the controls above the dashboard to narrow the results:

* **Search** — Find a Work Order using identifying details.
* **All Stages** — Show Work Orders in a selected stage.
* **All Inspectors** — Filter by assigned inspector.
* **Payment Status** — Filter by payment status.
* **Select Date Range** — Narrow the results by date.

Team Owners may also see controls for switching between their own Work Orders and team Work Orders.

## Open and Manage a Work Order

1. Find the Work Order on the dashboard.
2. Select its card to open the detail page.
3. Review the property, client, pricing, appointment, and agreement information.
4. Use the actions available for its current stage.

Depending on its progress, a Work Order may offer actions for scheduling, generating or reviewing an agreement, tracking signatures, or opening the inspection.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Work Order stages and agreement signature statuses are separate. For example, a Work Order may be scheduled while its agreement is still awaiting a client signature.

## Create a New Work Order

Select **+ New Work Order** to enter the property, inspection services, fees, client details, and any applicable agent information.

After creation, continue through the steps shown on the Work Order detail page: assign an inspector if required, schedule the appointment, prepare the agreement, and proceed to the inspection.

## What Comes Next?

Once a Work Order is created, you can choose how to schedule it:

* **Send Date & Time Options** — Offer appointments for the client to select.
* **Choose Date & Time Myself** — Set the appointment directly.

After scheduling, use the Work Order to prepare and manage the inspection agreement.

> [!TIP]
>
> Before creating your first Work Order, review **Business Settings → Fees & Services**, **Inspection Setup**, and **Templates & Agreements** so your defaults are ready.
