Work orders are the backbone of every job you run in InspectIQ. Each work order acts as a single job record that brings together everything you need: your client’s contact details, the property address, the type of inspection being performed, the scheduled date and time, the signed agreement, and the current status of the job. Whether you’re booking a new client or following up on a completed inspection, the work order keeps all the moving parts organised in one place.

Work Order Lifecycle

Every work order in InspectIQ moves through a clear set of stages from the moment you create it to the moment the job is done.
  • Draft — The work order has been created but is not yet scheduled. Use this stage to capture client and property details before committing to a date.
  • Scheduled — A date, time, and (optionally) an assigned inspector have been confirmed. The client can receive an automated confirmation at this stage.
  • In Progress — The inspection is underway. The inspector can access the report template and begin logging findings on-site.
  • Complete — The inspection is finished, the report has been delivered, and the job is closed out.

What You Can Do with Work Orders

Create a Work Order

Start a new job by entering client details, property address, inspection type, and any special notes.

Schedule an Inspection

Pick a date and time, assign a team member, and send automated confirmations to your client.

Agreements & Signatures

Attach an inspection agreement, send it for e-signature, and track whether your client has signed.

Run the Inspection

Move from a scheduled work order straight into the inspection workflow and start writing your report.
Use the InspectIQ dashboard as your command centre. At a glance you can see every upcoming job, its current status, and whether a signed agreement is still outstanding — so nothing slips through the cracks.
