Credentials & Standards lets you configure your professional identification, licensing information, association memberships, and Standards of Practice. This information helps identify the inspector and the professional standards followed by your inspection business.

Access Credentials & Standards

  1. Select Settings from the main navigation.
  2. Choose Business Settings.
  3. Select Credentials & Standards from the left-hand menu.
You’ll see three sections: Inspector / Owner Details, Credentials & Licenses, and Standards of Practice.

Inspector / Owner Details

This section contains the primary inspector or business owner’s identification information. Review both fields to ensure the correct professional name is displayed.

Credentials & Licenses

Record your professional licensing and association information.

Update Your Credentials

  1. Locate Credentials & Licenses.
  2. Enter or update your company licence number, if applicable.
  3. Enter your professional association.
  4. Enter your association membership or certification number.
Licensing and certification requirements vary by province, state, and jurisdiction. Complete the fields that apply to your business.

Standards of Practice

This section identifies the professional Standards of Practice your inspections follow. A Standard of Practice (SOP) establishes the general scope, procedures, and limitations applicable to an inspection.

Configure Your Standard of Practice

  1. Locate Standards of Practice.
  2. Enter the full SOP Name.
  3. Enter the SOP Short Name.
  4. Specify the applicable SOP Version / Date.
  5. Enter the SOP Link, if available.
Include a direct link to your applicable Standard of Practice so the correct reference is readily available when reviewing your inspection documentation.

Before Your First Inspection

We recommend confirming that:
  • Your inspector or owner name is correct.
  • Your default signature name is accurate.
  • Your company licence information is current, if applicable.
  • Your professional association and membership details are correct.
  • Your Standard of Practice reflects the requirements you follow.
  • Your SOP version and reference link are up to date.
InspectIQ allows you to record professional credentials and standards, but it does not replace your responsibility to maintain the licences, certifications, or memberships required to perform inspections in your jurisdiction.
